Nut shell activated carbon is usually made from apricot / peach kernel, or walnut / pecan shell. Top
nut shell or fruit kernel as our materials will be crushed into powder before put into furnace. After that
the powder will be burnt with carbon dioxide, steam, and air / oxygen in furnace. During the period,
inner temperature will be controlled between 850 ~ 950 ºC. As for the range of temperature, it is the
conclusion from scientific data in numerous experiments. The result is researched by our technicians and professors who have studied activated carbon more than 30 years from our local universities.
(We co-operate with them on some projects about activated carbon.)
After carbonization and activation, nut shell activated carbon will be selected and stored according to
different sizes.

Because the material of nut shell activated carbon is usually fruit kernel or shell, so it is popular with
industries which has high standards of environmental protection. And as one kind of economic
commodities, it can also be recycled.

Application

1.It can remove formaldehyde efficiently after indoor decoration.

2.It is common in water purifier, no matter purifying the water for home, or produce mineral water.
As the element of water purifier, it can remove the chloride alga in water. 

3.As the catalyst, it is used in alcohol factories or distilleries to help accelerate the alcohol production.

 

4.It is usually to absorb excess oil or as carrier of catalyst in oil refinement.

5.It can purify the food grade carbon dioxide for beverage production.

6.It is generally used as cigarette filter infill to decrese the risk of disease caused by smoking.

With the increase of temperature, value of iodine and methylene blue adsorption will increase,
but hardness of nut shell activated carbon, reaction rate and ratio of yield will decrease. Meanwhile,
loss on ignition and ash content will increase, with more air current blow into furnace when
temperature continue increases.
So according to 8 years experience, our technicians will control the temperature during cabonization
and activation. And our nut shell granular activated carbon ususaly activated in furnace at 850 ~
950 ºC.

The Production process of coal based granular activated carbon:
Raw material→Pulverization→Drying→Carbonization→Activation→Storage→Delivery
