Brown Fused Alumina

Brown fused alumina is also called brown corundum, is formed by melting and crystallization of high-quality raw materials such as bauxite and anthracite-based coke at high temperature. The main mineral components of brown corundum are physical corundum, trigonal crystal system, and mineral impurities are: calcium silicate, anorthite, mullite (also known as mullite), titanium compounds, glass body and iron alloys.

Brown fused alumina has the characteristics of high purity, good crystallization, strong fluidity, low coefficient of linear expansion and corrosion resistance. Abrasives made of it are suitable for grinding metals with high tensile strength, such as carbon steel, general alloy steel, annealed malleable cast iron and hard bronze, etc., and can also be used as refractory materials.

Sandblasting

Brown fused alumina has moderate hardness, high bulk density, no free silica, large specific gravity and good toughness. It is an ideal "environment-friendly" sandblasting material, which is widely used in aluminum profile, copper profile glass, precision molds for washed jeans and other fields.

 

Making Abrasive

Brown fused alumina is used to make resin abrades or coated abrades. Abrasives have appropriate color, good hardness, toughness, appropriate particle cross-section type and cutting edge retention, which are applied to resin abrasives with ideal effect, and also widely used in sand paper, emery cloth factory.

 

As Functional Filler

Brown fused alumina is mainly used for automobile brake parts, special tires, special construction products, etc. It can be used as wear-resistant materials for highway pavement, runway, dock, parking lot, industrial floor, stadium and so on.

 

As Filter Media

Brown fused alumina is a new application field of abrasive. Granular abrasive is used as the bottom media of filter bed to purify drinking water or wastewater. It is a new type of water filter material at home and abroad, especially suitable for nonferrous metal beneficiation, oil drilling mud weighting agent

 

Free Grinding
